If you have an unused shirt, pair of scissors, and 10 minutes you can easily make any one of these no sew costumes for dress up play.
I recently went on a closet clean out expedition. In my reduce, reuse, repurpose ways; I couldn’t help myself in seeing potential in that pile of clothes headed to the donation drop off. I also recently cleaned out the playroom. I noticed that my boys had tons of dress up props (swords, hats, profession kits), but they didn’t have any dress up clothes.
I think dress up/costume time gets placed in the ‘girl’ category a lot. But lemme tell ya… my boys love playing dress up. I constantly have a cowboy, construction worker, astronaut, or soldier running around the house. Sounds exciting around here, huh?
One of the best parts is that all of these costumes are so versatile in color. You can use your creativity and don’t specifically have to use the colors I have here. Plus, I love that these are no sew, easy peasy, get down to playing outfits. So let’s get down to it.
5 No Sew Costumes for Dress Up
You can iron your cape, or not…like me, whateva.
“Hey woman, I’m building over here. Quit with the pictures.” 😉
You will want to reuse your doctor lab coat for this one. The lab coat will now be your ninja Gi (top).
To make all 5 of these (including play time) it took about one hour. While we had a blast just playing pretend for the day, these no sew costumes would be great for quick school costumes, or even Halloween.
