When the fall season comes around the first thing I want to do is redecorate the whole house. Oh – and drink apple cider and eat all things fall food.
For decorating though, I always seem to start in the same place. The front porch. It’s the first impression people get of our home.
I was strolling around the grocery store as I thought on how I wanted to decorate the porch this fall. When I suddenly came across a cinnamon broom. I have heard of people making them, but (2) for $7 seemed like a pretty good deal to me. Plus, that cinnamon goodness smell was ah-mazing!
I came home with my cinnamon broom and began to add a bit of flair to it. Although I think even hung alone it would make for a great rustic look.
I had a few of these fall leaf picks from the dollar store. I just placed the picks into the cinnamon broom where I wanted them. I didn’t glue or attach them as they slid in pretty securely. I didn’t want to glue anything in case I wanted to reuse the broom elsewhere during the holidays.
I made and added a pretty bow, using fabric I had on hand.
I have had many people comment on how good it smells on my porch or in my entryway. The few people that knew what a cinnamon broom was, pointed it out. However, others were wondering what I did to make it smell so good on the porch. 😉
The door is conquered. Now, on to the rest of the house!
