You may or may not know that I am a canner (food preservation). You can read about that and get an awesome salsa recipe here. Well, when you eat those delicious canned goods you can reuse your mason jars and bands, but not the lids. You always want to use new lids to ensure a good seal. I was looking at one of the lids, about to pitch it in the trash, when this idea popped in my mind. Colorful and fun emoji magnets!
What is it about emoji’s? I use them in texts constantly, my husband sends them when he is being goofy, and my boys are CRAZY about them. My. Boys. Are. Crazy…we have the poop pillow. Yeah. That pillow you see in the store and chuckle at. Then you roll your eyes and can’t possibly imagine spending money on…well…poop. My son has it. In my defense, it was a birthday gift.
- mason jar lids
- spray paint
- printed emojis *I made this printable using the Avery Design & Print Software*
- mod podge
- round craft magnets
- hot glue gun (or) E6000 glue
Start with clean lids. Give them a quick coat of spray paint with some bright fun colors.
Cut out printed emojis.
Use a small dab of mod podge on the lid and center the emoji print.
Using a thin layer of mod podge brush over the top of the emoji to seal it on the lid.
Hot glue, or glue, a round magnet on the back side of the lid.
Yay an emoji magnet!
